Medicare Assistance (SHIP)

MARYLAND STATE HEALTH INSURANCE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SHIP)

Maryland SHIP is part of a federally funded program that offers free-of-charge one-on-one assistance, counseling, and education to Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to help them make informed decisions about their coverage options, enrollment, costs, and benefits. 

Our SHIP program coordinator is available to assist you with the following key aspects of the program:

  • ​Counseling: Provide personalized assistance with Medicare Parts A, B, C (Advantage), and D (prescription drug plans) as well as Medigap options.

  • Education: Help you understand your benefits, rights, and coverage choices.

  • Financial Assistance: Guide low-income individuals seeking help with Medicare Savings Programs, Medicaid, and prescription drug costs.

  • Claims & Appeals: Support you with your billing concerns, denials, and grievances.
